About Me |
ANNE MARTIN, B.A, Dip.SM MISM MNCH(Acc) Master Practitioner, NLP I began my four-year training in 1981, in London, in Individual and Group Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, and continued with a further two-year course in Relationship and Psychosexual Counseling. In 1988, I did my Diploma in Stress Management, and in 1990 I began training in Hypnotherapy, and later in Metaphor Therapy. I became a Master Practitioner, NLP in 2003. A critical part of anyone's training in this field is their own therapy, which I have had. It is important for a therapist to know what it feels like to be sitting in the client's chair! I believe that all the therapies are merely different mediums aiming at the same thing, namely integrating and healing the whole person. The skill lies also in choosing the right therapy or combination of therapies for the particular individual - one size does not fit all! We negotiate nearly everything, including the fee, because each person's circumstances are different, and that special individual formula needs to be found for each individual. Occasionally, in line with this, we may well use the client's writings, artwork, or dreams, or anything they may produce, for even greater insight and illumination. The other important reason for negotiation within the therapy is that all successful relationships are about negotiation, aiming at that perfect win-win situation for everyone. Using negotiation within therapy is likely, therefore to provide another useful tool for future relationships, encouraging flexibility and a positive attitude us it does. My own temperament is gentle, conscientious, loyal, and with a gentle sense of humor. I am continually seeking to expand and update my knowledge and experience both as a student and as another human being. I love my work and way of life, and consider it a huge privilege to be invited into my clients' lives, to help them in whatever best way I can to fulfill themselves. |
